Cannon Industries was included as a part of General Domestic Appliances which itself was formed as a division of the GEC Group in 1989. There were many more companies included in the General Domestic Appliances banner, in addition to Cannon. Later in 1989 GE of the USA bought a 50% share of the General Domestic Appliances division. Increased professional association between the individual companies resulted in the transfer of the manufacture of gas cookers and fires to Creda’s Blythe Bridge factory in 1994.

April 1998 saw the merger of Cannon along with Hotpoint and Creda to become General Domestic Appliances Limited. The equal partnership between GE and GEC group was formed and later was named as Marconi. December 2001 again saw a shift in equations, and Merloni Elettrodomestici of Italy, owning European brands like Ariston, Indesit and Scholtes acquired 50 % shares in GDA Ltd from Marconi. Merloni eventually and finally changed its name to Indesit Company.

Cannon Industries specialise in Cookers with a wide range of models. Professional, Classic, Mini and Traditional are the four ranges offered by Cannon cookers.

There are a total of 19 models distributed among the four ranges. The hottest new Professional 110 and 90 Ranges have clean lines plus a fresh and elegant look which tender certified feature and generate the ideal look in a cooking zone. Cannon’s Mini Range cookers are planned for its users who desire the quality and style, but are restricted on space.

The professional range has dual options of electric and gas burners. Wok burners, heavy duty cast iron pan supports, flame failure gas cut out device, automatic gas ignition, heat clean oven liners, B energy rating, adjustable height, 55 litre drawer for storage of crockery and food and keeping it warm, heavy duty enamelled roasting dish and  easy clean hob etc are some of  the many  features provided.

The traditional range is available in two colour options, anthracite and cream. Three heavy duty cast iron pan supports, six burners with a 5kw multi wok burner, rotating 90°C fish kettle burners, fully programmable timers for the electric fan oven, adjustable height, hobs fully convertible to LPG and supplied with a kit, a large storage compartment with plate warming facility and an Energy rating of B are all the salient features of this traditional range. The electric fan oven is a thoughtful addition, which cancels the need for any preheating of the oven.
