Gorenje is the largest Slovenian manufacturer of home appliances with a share of 4%. Appliances are sold under their brand name Gorenje, Mora, Atag, pelgrim, Etna, Körting and Sidex and are produced in the production facility at Velenja, cooking appliance plant in Marianske Udoli (Czech Republic) and the freezer-fridge plant in Valjevo (Serbia).

Fagor was established in the year 1956 in the beautiful country of Spain. The firm is managed by Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa. This is a co-operative firm started in a small workshop in Mondragon. Fagor markets its appliances in seven different brand names: Fagor, Brandt, Mastercook, Edesa, Aspes, De Dietrich and Fagor Commercial.

DeLonghi Ovens & Cookers

DeLonghi was established in the year 1902 as small industrial part makers. It is based in Treviso, Italy.  DeLonghi was organized and maintained as a legal corporation firm in 1950. They are the world’s leading brand in portable heating. Now DeLonghi has expanded in every major home appliance like cookers, ovens, air conditioners, cleaning and ironing. They acquired Kenwood Limited in 2001 gave them access to their Chinese factory that’s the reason that many of the DeLonghi products are made in China and designed and engineered in Italy. It operates in more than 75 countries with 13 production factories.

Cannon Industries Cookers

Cannon Industries was included as a part of General Domestic Appliances which itself was formed as a division of the GEC Group in 1989. There were many more companies included in the General Domestic Appliances banner, in addition to Cannon. Later in 1989 GE of the USA bought a 50% share of the General Domestic Appliances division. Increased professional association between the individual companies resulted in the transfer of the manufacture of gas cookers and fires to Creda’s Blythe Bridge factory in 1994.

Belling Ovens & Cookers

One of the largest brand in the cooking market, Belling was established in the year 1912 by Charles A. Belling at Lancaster, Enfield. In 1914 it moved to larger works in Derby Road, Edmonton. Belling returned to their Enfield origin relocating to bridge works. It continued their expansion plan by purchasing manufacturing site in Burnley. Belling’s famous model Baby Belling was launched in the year 1970 which is still popular today. Recently, it launched its new version of Baby Belling- the Baby Belling Pronto. Belling was acquired by Glen Dimplex Group in the year 1992 but they were committed to the Belling brand name and culture.

Indesit is one of the biggest makers of home appliances in Europe. Indesit was founded by Aristide Merloni as Industrie Merloni in 1930. Their first commodity was the liquid gas bottles and domestic boilers. They also used to sell gas hobs to be used with liquid gas. Slowly they graduated towards home appliances under the name of Ariston. After the death of their founder the company was divided into three separate and independent businesses, Merloni Elettrodomestici and an engineering division. Merloni Elettrodomestici acquired Indesit their main rivals in the competition in1985. In 2005 Merloni Eletrrodomestici was renamed Indesit Company as they are one of the best known of the group outside Italy. After two years they were listed on the stock exchange.
