One of the largest brand in the cooking market, Belling was established in the year 1912 by Charles A. Belling at Lancaster, Enfield. In 1914 it moved to larger works in Derby Road, Edmonton. Belling returned to their Enfield origin relocating to bridge works. It continued their expansion plan by purchasing manufacturing site in Burnley. Belling’s famous model Baby Belling was launched in the year 1970 which is still popular today. Recently, it launched its new version of Baby Belling- the Baby Belling Pronto. Belling was acquired by Glen Dimplex Group in the year 1992 but they were committed to the Belling brand name and culture.

Indesit Ovens & Cookers

Indesit is one of the biggest makers of home appliances in Europe. Indesit was founded by Aristide Merloni as Industrie Merloni in 1930. Their first commodity was the liquid gas bottles and domestic boilers. They also used to sell gas hobs to be used with liquid gas. Slowly they graduated towards home appliances under the name of Ariston. After the death of their founder the company was divided into three separate and independent businesses, Merloni Elettrodomestici and an engineering division. Merloni Elettrodomestici acquired Indesit their main rivals in the competition in1985. In 2005 Merloni Eletrrodomestici was renamed Indesit Company as they are one of the best known of the group outside Italy. After two years they were listed on the stock exchange.

Hotpoint Ovens & Cookers

Hotpoint is a renowned British brand famous for its home appliances. It was founded in the year 1922 in UK. Recently it was taken over by their Italian competitor Indesit. In 1920 they collaborated with their rival GE forming the HEAC (Hotpoint Electric Appliance Company Limited). The first brand from them was a toaster. Again in 1929 they associated with AEI (Associated Electric Industries) group and became the member of The General Electric Company. Until 1989 Hotpoint continued as a subsidy of AEI but after that they merged with the new division of GEC. In North America “Hotpoint” is the brand of GE. In the year 2008 Indesit purchased the final share for US$57, 120, 00.

Electrolux Ovens & Cookers

Electrolux was founded as Elektromekaniska AB in 1910 but changed its name to Elektrolux after merging with Lux AB in 1919. The merger was handled by the Swedish Axel Wenner-Gren. The name was changed to Electrolux in 1957. Their first product was a vacuum cleaner and there was no looking back from then on. The company was a holding company in 1928 and in the 1970s it grew rapidly under the mentorship of Hans Werthén.
